To delve deeper into globe valves, today we're going to talk specifically about single-seat globe valves.
This model has the characteristic that for the valve to close, the shutter must move downwards (normally open).
For the valve to open, the shutter must move downwards (normally closed).
Ideally, single-seat valves should be installed so that the flow tends to open. This results in smooth, quiet operation with maximum capacity.
When single seat valves are installed so that the flow tends to close the valve, it is possible for hammering of the seat by the shutter, also known as “CHATTERING”.
