Today's post will talk about electro-hydraulic actuators.
This type of actuator can be activated in two ways:
By electric motor that controls the hydraulic pressure system. Or by a coil, which when activated by a current signal, generates a magnetic field that causes a vane to move, causing the nozzle to become blocked, through which oil flows at high pressure. The flow of oil to the piston causes it to move and produces a high driving force.
This actuator has the advantages of very high torque, construction rigidity, fast response and excellent dynamic stability against fluid forces.
The disadvantages are that it can be expensive, complex, heavy and large, and may require extra accessories to ensure a safe position.
Stay tuned for future posts, as we'll discuss other types of actuators available on the market that you can attach to Unival valves.
