Continuing to describe the particularities of actuators, today we will talk about the spring and diaphragm type pneumatic actuator:
It is the actuator that uses a flexible diaphragm, on which a variable load pressure acts in opposition to the force produced by a spring.
It can have two modes of action:
a) Direct Action: the increased pressure pushes the rod down, while the spring forces the rod up. (greater effort)
or
b) Reverse Action: The increased pressure pulls the rod upwards, while the spring forces the rod downwards.
Stay tuned for future posts as we'll talk about other types of actuators on the market.
