World's Largest Gate Valve (DN2800) Made for Texas, USA

Texas, the second-largest state in the US, both in area and population, supplies and manages the region's water supply. The Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) and Dallas Water Utilities (DWU) supply and manage the region's water. With the region's rapidly expanding population, it's expected that more than 13 million residents will need water by 2060. Because of this, the companies will partner to execute a $2 billion pipeline project (IPL).

This project will increase the water supply to 350 million gallons per day (1.59 billion liters/day). The project involved the construction of 150 miles of pipeline, extending and integrating several lakes. It also involved the construction of three pump stations and three booster pump stations.

Valves play a super important role in this project, regulating water in the largest areas of the pipeline.

It was a project to manufacture high pressure gate valves of DN 2800 / 108 inches, considered the largest gate valves in the world, weighing more than 100 tons and maintaining a majestic height of 14.53 m.

Various research and inspection techniques were applied during manufacturing to ensure that the valves were manufactured to the highest quality standards.

The first valve to be installed in the pipeline has successfully passed all hydraulic and seat strength tests, a further five valves are currently in production for this impressive pipeline scheme, designed in the UK and manufactured in the USA with delivery completed on time.
